The Congregation of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Lioba, founded in Germany, in the year 1920 by Mother Maria Benedicta who integrated the monastic ideals of St. Benedict and works of humanitarian nature. NEVER FORSAKE CHARITY; is the motto of the congregation. It includes communion with God and love of our neighbour in serving. The society of the Benedictine sisters of St. Lioba is a non-governmental organisation committed to the service of the people of all ages. We render service to the people of God in the fields of Education, Social work, Healing ministry, Pastoral care, Vocational Training Centres, Home for the Senior Citizens, Hospice, Non formal schools, Hostals and Boardings in different parts of our country Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Meghalaya and Kerala.
ST. LIOBA, THE PATRONESS OF OUR CONGREGATION
St. Lioba academy is dedicated to St. Lioba, the patroness of our congregation. She was born early in the 8th century and belonged to the English nobility. Lioba means “the dear one”, a woman of great sensitivity. Her outstanding trait was completeness; completeness in her dedication to God and neighbour with her broad education. She trained the young girls in various ways, reflected on what she read and had a treasure with which she could enrich others. St. Lioba gained a great reputation for her wisdom and prudent advice. She opened her home for all without any distinction of rank. St. Lioba died on September 28, 780. Her convents became schools of culture. They were homes of prayer centres, charity ready to meet every human need.

“We are glad to welcome you all viewers to St. Lioba Academy, Bengaluru. As we know that the world is in a process of change and becoming. Hence the educational practices that simply focus on the transfer of static knowledge cannot keep up with the rapid rate of change. What is required today for a successful education is a curriculum that is responsive to the context of constant flux. Hence, we have designed a broad curriculum and a range of opportunities to achieve excellence in academic, creative, social, emotional and physical growth of every child who is entrusted to our care. Computer basics, Karate and a range of other sporting and cultural activities are some examples. St. Lioba Academy insists the Parent participation in education and we offer a number of opportunities under the auspices of PTA to come and engage with the child’s learning. Above all, We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated, innovative, caring and experienced staff members to teach our students to learn passionately, think critically and live fraternally.
